Koon Ut Kalifee Wake-Up Call

Thanks to roving reporter Quvmoh, we are happy to report that the Star Trek Theme Song will be played on the current space shuttle mission among the wake-up music. As a bonus, the STS-133 Training Team requested an additional Star Trek song that was played to wake up the shuttle crew early this morning [March 4, 2011]: "The Ritual / Ancient Battle / 2nd Kroykah from Star Trek: Original Television Soundtrack".

How cool is that???

According to NASA, you can listen live to the Star Trek Theme Song wake-up call on March 7, 2011 at 2:23 AM (time zone? Duh...).

We're a little surprised they don't play the Cheesecloth Theme as their lullaby.

This is the cover of Son of Grope, an early 70s zine out of the UK. Kirk looks pretty happy, doesn't he? I'm imagining offscreen a pile of very happy crew members, sipping margaritas and snickering over the Spanking List.

The lifetime collector says he's ready to make a deal, but is he really? Next, the guys hunt for the perfect showpiece for Shatner's garden and think they've hit the jackpot with an amazing millstone collector. That is, until they find out his prices outweigh even the heaviest of stones. And, with just one week to deliver the goods to their celebrity client, Mike and Frank call in a favor from a designer friend. Finally, with a van full of treasures, they deliver their booty to Shatner, hoping they haven't let him down.

First, in Australia at the State Theatre in Sidney on Tuesday, April 5th, then on to New Zealand for one show at the Civic Theatre in Auckland on Friday, April 8th and then back to Australia to the Plenary Theatre in Melbourne on Sunday, April 10th.

More crazy zine illustrations

I'm usually a fan of Gayle Feyrer's Trek illustrations - they're quite stylized and often hard-core explicit, and I think she does a good job of capturing the faces of the subjects. But this little gem - well, I can't tell what she's going for here, except TOTALLY BATSHIT INSANE.

I think this is Spock. Suggestions for what's happening here are welcome. It looks to me like he's got measles and is about to be strangled by a huge disembodied hand.

Way to Eden MUSIC SHEET

Yet another gem from one of the zines we're selling. This is from Vol 3 of the Star Trek Songbook - someone actually went to the trouble to transcribe the music for ridiculous song the Space Hippies sing in "Way to Eden". I haven't tried to play this and never will.
