Trekkies to Have Our Own Theme Park

Finally! Too bad we can't afford to go to Jordan.

"The resort will include hotels, theatres, dining and shopping. The entertainment will be themed around the idea of Jordan as "a crossroads of civilisations', Ms Ayoubi said.
The Star Trek-themed 'space-flight adventure' will be created under licence from CBS Consumer Products, which manages the licensing of television shows including the CSI series."

Koon Ut Kalifee Wake-Up Call

Thanks to roving reporter Quvmoh, we are happy to report that the Star Trek Theme Song will be played on the current space shuttle mission among the wake-up music. As a bonus, the STS-133 Training Team requested an additional Star Trek song that was played to wake up the shuttle crew early this morning [March 4, 2011]: "The Ritual / Ancient Battle / 2nd Kroykah from Star Trek: Original Television Soundtrack".

How cool is that???

According to NASA, you can listen live to the Star Trek Theme Song wake-up call on March 7, 2011 at 2:23 AM (time zone? Duh...).

We're a little surprised they don't play the Cheesecloth Theme as their lullaby.

Bill and Early Television

PBS will air its "Pioneers of Television" Sci-Fi episode on January 18, 2011, 8:00 pm ET/PT.

Storytellers Gene Roddenberry, Irwin Allen and Rod Serling created the storylines and characters behind the best-loved futuristic television of their time. But as Roddenberry’s “Star Trek” competed for ratings with Allen’s “Lost in Space,” each show’s creator aimed for a very different direction. This episode explores how Roddenberry and Serling (of “The Twilight Zone”) used the future as a stage for modern morality plays, and William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Nichelle Nichols and other science-fiction stars describe how they prepared to interact on-camera with a malevolent alien force … or, perhaps, a giant radish.

Actually, all 4 episodes (Sci-Fi, Westerns, Crime Drama, and Local Kids TV) sound interesting. Note that Bill is also mentioned as a performer who worked in Local Kids TV so perhaps we'll finally see a clip or photo of His Buttness on the Howdy Doody Show.
