Max Headroom interviews Bill!

Circa 1985, I think. I found this totally by accident as I was searching for info about the Max Headroom show that will be released on DVD this year. Bill is EVERYWHERE.

This is a great (if short) interview - I think some of it is scripted, but Bill is in fine form with ad-libs too. Strangely, he doesn't shill for anything!

Oh, Bill!

He looks so cute.

Another media conquered? Sort of

Ok, so Bill's not actually in this, but he WAS the goddamn captain.

Common People/TAS Slashy Mashup

This is so well done, and hey, any excuse to listen to this song. And look at his butt! Still firm and buttly even in animation! Be sure to watch to the end.

Buy Bill's Motorcycle!

It's for charity.

The original Capt. Kirk, William Shatner, is [...] selling his custom Harley-Davidson motorcycle, his Golden Globe nomination certificate and the plaque he was presented when he got a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame in 1983. Shatner plans to donate a portion of the proceeds to the Hollywood Charity Horse Show, which helps handicapped children.
P.S. Look at his butt!

Maynard Shills for US!

YOU GUYS!

Our pal Maynard was just interviewed for The Skeptic Zone, a wonderful skeptical podcast from Australia - and he spent several minutes of his precious interview time with Dr. Rachie plugging Look At His Butt! What a guy! Truly Shatner-worthy shilling.

And for everyone out there, EVE stands for Extremely Visible Erection.

Go Maynard!!!

And even better, thanks to Di...

Bill for Governor General of Canada

There's a campaign to put Bill in this prestigious post. Even Leonard Nimoy (via Twitter) is on board.
Bill: You're being considered for governor general of Canada. Do it! Finally a chance to do something with your life.

I wonder what Chris Pine will look like in 40 years...

Bill profiled in GQ: Riding Horses is Like Making Love

Hold on to your reins, everyone, this is the GQ profile in which Bill compared riding horses to making love (OF COURSE HE DID). This article is magnificent. The writer really gets Bill. Just read the opening paragraph:

My God, the bracing and embracing enthusiasm that is SHATNER! The music it makes, the staccatos and sforzandi and delirious swings of tempo and motif! Behold, now, Shatner, jamming, deep into a riff about the human palate (though the subject could be anything), the worlds open to it, and the worlds it can open: "For me, for me, you can't go too far pushing for MORE coffee taste. More BURNED. More GROUND. That's for me! This is my QUEST. Andrew, do you understand when I tell you that I QUEST?"
Hop on over and read Shatner! The Long. Strange. Never-Boring Journey of a National Treasure (and yes, we know he's Canadian) by Andrew Corsello. You'll be glad you did.

And we fucking LOVE this picture of Bill.

Another Media Conquered!

Thanks to Mr. Mugato on the TrekBBS, we now know that Bill has his own font!
The Classic TOS font has a tendency for it's components to slant upwards to the right (if you know what I mean). For example the crossbar on the letter "H" is not horizontal, but slants upwards to the right.

However, the only time it does not, is in William Shatner's opening titles credit.*

The "H" in Shatner is perfectly horizontal, while every other time the font is used (closing credits in the 2nd and 3rd season etc.) it slopes up to the right.

* Note that this has been "corrected" in the HD versions

Bill Responds to a Trek Geek

From the William Shatner BBS:
Dear William (or Bill) I'm not sure which you prefer, and forgive the formality if you prefer Bill.

I'm having an argument with another poster on a thread[.]

The discussion is about Captain's on away missions. We all know that Kirk lead his away team in almost every episode... but the argument that I'm having in particular is what did Kirk mean when he was talking with Saavik, and Saavik quoted that General Order Number 15 prevented Star Fleet Captains to beam down without an Armed Escort. Was Kirk lying to Saavik when he told her no such order existed? I can't find anything in official canon that describes exactly what the General Orders were. And I can't get CBS/Paramount to respond on this. How did you feel when you were acting this out? Do you think Kirk meant to mislead her? Or was Kirk being honest when he told her "I don't believe there is such a regulation?"

Paul (the board admin) forwarded it to Bill because it's so geeky, he wanted to see what Bill would say.

After much head-scratching...

...many sleepless nights...

...and deep philosophical soul-searching...

...he added it all up...

...and replied:
The answer to your question in simple: Kirk just wanted to get laid.

My best,
Bill
