The West Australian reports that J.J. Abrams is considering including Shatner in the sequel to his widely loved and successful Star Trek reboot. "I would love to work with him," Abrams said at a press conference. "It was a foregone conclusion we wanted him in [Star Trek]. The problem was his character died on screen in one of his Trek films and we decided that we wanted to adhere to Trek canon.” Abrams further said that he felt they had more of an opening with the sequel to find a manner in which to reintroduce the older Captain Kirk.
In fact, Abrams and Shatner are even joining each other for a “dinner date.” This may be more serious than we thought, guys. Anyway, I have faith in Abrams being able to pull off some sort of time-machine-portal-hole-thingy that will bring old Kirk back to life. And maybe if Shatner gets the job, he’ll stop crying on YouTube about the whole thing.
As Logan would say to me: Really? Really? It's a lot more fun to hear Bill complaining about not being in the Trek movie than it would be to actually see him in a Trek movie.
But as they say on TV, stay tuned...

Bill! Run! Don't associate yourself with that Captain Kirk, he has NO charm and hotness!
Seriously, crazy ass story aside, if they had chosen to portray him in another way, I would have liked the film a lot more. It would have made it pretty darn good if Kirk was, I dunno - KIRK! Not some modern rebel without a cause . . .
*Sigh* Bill, stay away!
Will Shatner have to wear bright blue contact lenses in the film to synch up the the new Kirk?
Now Bill will HAVE TO see the firsat movie. That alone should be reason for him to pass on this project.
Bill will turn his eyes blue temporarily by sheer force of will. Hey - that's another superpower - Eye Guy!
