You guys, Family Theater Productions began in the 1940's as a radio production company and later branched into film and television. The Family Theater productions you referenced (The Crowd, etc.) ran interspersed with psalmic material on Sunday morning Catholic Ministries programs on network television. People today may not remember this, but there were numerous regularly running religious-oriented programs on network TV over the course of decades--everything from Lamp Unto My Feet or Insight on Sunday mornings to weekly midnight mass from St. Patrick's Cathedral to discussion programs (Norman Vincent Peale, Bishop Fulton J. Sheen) and various Protestant denominational programs. Many actors, directors, and producers (John Frankenheimer, for one) got their starts or kept themselves going with opportunities on Lamp Unto My Feet, Family Theater, and Insight.
